Om Åtvidaberg
Åtvidaberg är en tätort på ca 7000 innevånare, i en kommun på ca 12 000.
I trakterna runt Åtvidaberg hittades redan under medeltiden koppar och gruvdrift startades. Gruvorna omtalas första gången år 1413. På 1500-talet lades dock driften ned. Under 1700-talet återtogs gruvdrift som pågick till slutet av 1800-talet. Istället startades det som senare blev det företag som många förknippar med Åtvidaberg även om det företaget sedan länge är uppköpt.
Företaget sponsrade under många år den lokala fotbollsföreningen, som t.o.m lyckades vinna SM-guld två år på tidigt 70-tal.

Geocache-serierna Östgötatorg
Januari-Mars 2011 placerade jag (LHCper) ut 13 stycken Östgötatorg-multis, en i varje kommun i Östergötland. Och varje hade en bonussiffra som sedan ledde fram till en bonus-cache. Av dessa finns idag (maj 2024) 4 kvar, men de kommer att arkiveras efter hand.
För att göra ett försenat 10-års-jubileum så placerar jag ut nya Östgötatorgs-multis. Men ingen bonus-cache denna gången, och jag lovar inte att placera ut i alla kommuner.
För att lösa denna hoppas jag att du verkligen besöker torget, för annars blir det svårt...

För att hitta slutgömman behöver du besöka Stora Torget för att kolla upp och räkna några saker som du kan se från startkoorinaten:
A: Vid nollan kan du se en stor byggnad. Hur många flagstänger finns det framför och ovanpå taket?
BCDE: På byggnadens fassad finns det en "ekvation", XXXX - YY. Vad blir resultatet av denna subtraktion?
F: Du ser en fontän av Carl Milles. Räkna antal fiskar och krabbor
G: Runt fontänen finns det grusstigar, och vid dessa står 1,5 meters bänkar. Hur många bänkar?

About Åtvidaberg
Åtvidaberg is an urban area of approx. 7,000 inhabitants, in a municipality of approx. 12,000.
In the areas around Åtvidaberg, copper was already found in the Middle Ages and mining was started. The mines are mentioned for the first time in 1413. In the 16th century, however, operations were shut down. During the 18th century, mining resumed, which continued until the end of the 19th century. Instead, what later became the company that many associate with Åtvidaberg was started, even though that company has long since been bought out.
For many years, the company sponsored the local football association, which even managed to win the Swedish Championship two years in the early 70s.

Geocache series Östgötatorg
January-March 2011 I (LHCper) placed 13 Östgötatorg multis, one in each municipality in Östergötland. And each had a bonus number which then led to a bonus cache. Of these, there are today (May 2024) 4 left, but they will be archived one after the other.
To mark a belated 10-year anniversary, I am placing new Östgötorg multis. But no bonus cache this time, and I do not promise to place in all municipalities.
To solve this one, I hope you really visit the square, because otherwise it will be difficult...
To find the final location
To find the final cache, you need to visit Stora Torget to check and count a few things:
A: At ground zero you can see a large building. How many flagpoles are there in front and on top of this building?
BCDE: On the front of the building there is an "equation", XXXX - YY. What is the result of this?
F: You see a sculpture, a fountain, by Carl Milles. Count number of fish and crabs
G: Around the fountain there are paths with pebbles, and next to this are some 1.5 meter benches. How many benches?
