December 13, 2009 by swright227 (10 found) I've found point three twice, but have yet to find point four. It looks like there has been a lot of tree cutting activity in the area. Is the ammo box still there? Maybe it has been taken? This was a fun cache. Thanks

November 7, 2009 by caviar42 (3979 found) A nice area for caching. Interesting twist to the game. Took some time to find the first stage. Found stage two pretty quickly. Never found stage three, but figured where it should be and headed to stage four from there. Nice. TFTF.

October 18, 2009 by Sam&Ziggy (164 found) Yes Cachers, this one is still there and in good condition! Ziggy found this himself on this gorgeous fall late afternoon and am still pumped up after this rare find. I took a tact similar to what has been described in other logs and tried to plot this out before hand on the computer. It was hard as BaseCamp only has the base map available to me. I got the most current North America map for my Dakota 20 on the mini-SD card and BaseCamp can't see it. Also, unfortunately, MapSource won't play nice with the Dakotas and all I could do is transfer a track from it into the Dakota. So I got the co-ordinates from the GC.com page logged into MapSource and then drew out a track from that point, watching at the bottom of the screen until the bearing and distance matched for each leg of the multi-stage cache. Once I hiked to the given co-ordinates, I called up the track I had plotted and walked it out as carefully as I could. When I reached the end of my plot, I looked around and, lo and behold, there was the ammo box not 8 feet away! After logging the find, I then went back to to the original co-ordinates and tried the Bearing and Sighting function of the Dakota 20. Oddly enough, on the walk back to the beginning, I found a tree with one of the hinted quarters nailed into it! Trying the Bearing and Sighting function, I found that this tree was no doubt the second stage waypoint. I then found what was probably the third stage tree, but never did find the nailed quarter. This tree was much older with really rough, peeling bark and I suspect the quarter may have been shed a long time ago. At any rate, the Bearing and Sighting funtion worked quite well. November 21, 2007 by JerseyGirl & Bruno (7152 found) I bet this was fun to do as the cacheowner planned it way back when, but conditions are quite different now and that may not be possible. Future hunters may want to follow FSUDad's lead and work this one out at home first. The coords we were armed with were spot on and walked me right up to the hide. This cache is a testament to the durability of the ammo can. Cache was in excellent shape, after a year and a half of not being found, and all was dry and safe. Thanks for placing this interesting cache.

November 21, 2007 by FSUDad (8041 found) Only two finds in the past two years... guess this one doesn't show up on many PQ's. I was with JG back in August and we tried to do it the old fashion way, with a GPS and compass and didn't have any luck. Went home and worked it out on Expert GPS and walked right to it today.Thought we would have to dodge the hunters today, but we didn't see any out in the woods and the fire break is now a nice two track. Took awhile to make our way through the palmettos but we made it, signed the log, everything is in good shape. Interesting multi. TFTH.
