The fault line creating the Hill Country begins with this geologic
uplift located off MoPac. A 10 acre Travis County Park awaits you.
Bring a picnic or a book to enjoy under the shelters. Typical Hill
Country terrain.
First the geologic event creating the Balcones Fault occurred.
From vantage point in the park you can see the uplift creating the
fault. This area has many cracks and fissures which allow water to
recharge the numerous streams, springs and creeks in the area. In
the late 60s and early 70s Balcones Fault played the Armadillo
World Headquarters often. They were good too. Then in August 2001 a
geocache, 'It's Balcones Fault' was placed here. It was muggled
after almost 100 finds. In 2003 this cache was placed as a
replacement of the first thus the name 'Its Balcones Fault too" You
are now searching for a Decon Container. This cache has the
blessings of Travis County Parks, Thanks!.

November 2 by sec-guy (168 found) Nice lunchtime grab. The park was empty at 11:20, and teeming with outdoor lunchers within 10 minutes. Beautiful Day! Thanks!
[view this log] | October 28 by jmd65 (532 found) Found it this time after a DNF earlier in the year. Nice little park, with quite a climb at the entrance. TFTC.
[view this log] | October 25 by axxiues (13 found) Found this one after playing hopscotch on the rocks. Trying to avoid walking on the cactus was a challenge. I had Darbie (parrot) with me. I place her in a tree while I pulled my phone out. She started to bark @ me. What the.... Just my luck you are barking at the lizard laying on a piece of wood. I notice something and walked over to it. Low behold there it was.

| October 24 by the alston's (162 found) The Alston's from Anacoco LA were in San Antonio visiting and decided to do some caching while in the area. There were no TB's or geocoins in the cache so you may want to update that info. This was a beautiful place to visit! I wish I had done a little more research and known there was also a earthcache here as well! OH WELL! It was good enough to come back to just to do the earthcache too. TU4C! SL TNLN
[view this log] | October 13 by Trevor and Kate (5246 found) Nice hide. We enjoyed this one very much. It was very quiet while we were here.
