Geocache Description:

CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES! You'll need to visit two places (about 1 mile apart) in Alexandria to get this one. This is one of my Virginia Multi-Virtual caches.

When you get to the listed coordinates, find the doctor's house. It's on the even side of the street. Take the house's address number, add 232. Put the answer here: 38 48.xxx. Next, take the house address (number), multiply by 4 and add 88. Put the answer here: 77 03.yyy.
Once at the new coordinates, try to answer these two questions:
1) How is the Dr. related to the namesake of the second location?
2) What is the missing word in this sentence? "...created an unconventional form by blending a modern 1920s XXXXXXXXXX shape with neoclassical ..."
3) Did the Dr. kill him? (Not required to log a "find") Perhaps the guides can help with this question but if not - look it up. The answer may surprise you!
November 2017 Update! So...What's with the cache title? Bloodletting was a popular form of medical treatment in the 1700s based on an ancient system of medicine in which blood and other bodily fluids were regarded as "humours" that had to remain in proper balance to maintain health. So did this tale involve a murder? Definitely medical malpractice! When this puzzle was created in 2003 you could find the answer to this question (for free) at the second spot. There was a direct pictorial link between the two spots for your viewing pleasure. Due to changes beyond our control I have had to alter the puzzle to ensure completion without having to venture into either building.
