Geocache Description:

The cache is placed along the banks of the Buffalo National River upstream of the Highway 65 bridge.

The easiest and most enjoyable way to access this cache is to float the river from Baker's Ford or farther west. If you are not familiar with the area, one good way to do it is to rent canoes from Gilbert General Store, 3-miles east of Highway 65 on State Road 333 (www.gilbertstore.com; phone (870) 439-2888; coordinates 35 degrees 59.295N / 92 degrees 42.915W). They will shuttle you 6-miles west to Baker's Ford for the 10-mile float back to Gilbert. You must be off the water by 6:30PM. Allow 5-6 hours for a liesurely float. The cache is placed only a few hundred yards from the river, but if you choose to approach it when it is 90 degrees to the river, you will have a very difficult climb, and have to make your way through poison ivy and over a delapidated fence. A better choice is to pull the canoes out of the water upstream, and find a well established horse trail at coordinates: 35 degrees 58.856N / 92 degrees 46.232W. This easy trail winds through bamboo 1/2-mile to the cache. Watch for poison ivy as you leave the trail to approach the cache.

We were travelling and decided at the last minute to place this cache. We forgot to include a log book and pencil. We also did not have the general geocaching notification statement available from the web site. If someone could place these items in the cache, it would be much appreciated!

Happy Geocaching!!!
