This Virtual Cache has been in the papers over the last few years and also on ABC News at times... It is on PRIVATE PROPERTY!!! Please respect the privacy of the owners (and their neighbors), and view it from a distance. I feel it is one of the great wonders of the North Fork... To view you can park at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Parking Lot... go to the beach and look North...Or go by boat (I'm making this easy, because I support the selfless attitude of the owner to make this cache available to the general public, his neighbors have been persuing legal means to have it removed, unsuccessfully up to now, I'm happy to report) !!! You can e-mail and/or send a pix to us with what you see to confirm your find... The coordinates may not be exact, but will be very close and the object of this cache will be obvious...
I took the coordinates from Maptech's Offshore Navigator...
While you are there you might want to take a walk on one of the nicest walking beaches on the North Fork... BUT Please pay attention to the warnings and roped off areas for the nesting Piping Plovers... and don't freak out the Ospreys if they are nesting!!! Dogs are permitted on the beach, provided they are on a leash...
