Vasaloppet, the 90 km ski race between Sälen and Mora, has been run every year since 1922 with only a few exceptions (winters with too less snow). It's always held on the first Sunday of March and the number of participants exceeds 10 000. Different races covering different distances are run in the week before the 'real' race; 90 km, 45 km, 30 km and 30 km only for women.

The position given above is actually just behind the finish line of the race. Go there and imagine you are crossing the line after having been skiing for maybe ten hours. What a feeling ! As it turned out to be almost impossible to hide a regular geocache close to the ski track through Mora we choose to make this one a virtual cache instead.

To be able to log this cache you must take a photo of yourself and your GPS in front of the object at this position : N61 00.437 E14 32.616

Vasaloppet is one of four events in the "A Swedish Classic" ("En svensk klassiker"). The other three are Vansbrosimmet (GC70C7), Lidingöloppet (GC944F) and Vätternrundan (a cache yet to come).
