Geocache Description:

Few people know, that one of the oldest Cedrus libani tree of Central Europe can be found in Budapest, Hungary. There are two older specimens in Hungary: in Alcsut and Sopron. It's crown is 12m (36 feet) in diameter. This evergreen tree looks especially spectacular in the winter, when the other trees are bare.

Its age is between 120 and 150 years, which is pretty young for a tree of this kind. Cedars can live 2-3000 years, they don't even grow cones before they reach the age of 40-50 years. Its wood is quite valuable, because it's easily tractable and still very durable. Mummy coffins were made of Cedrus libani!

You need to collect a password to report your find. The password is a number, the size of the nature reservation area which this tree belongs to. You will find this information on the sign in front of the tree. (The four digit number in the 4th paragraph from the top)
