If you are rock climbing/hiking in Castle Valley, stop and look at Sister Superior, a part of the nuns formation. Currently the cache is at the base of the rock, not the top.
A friend and I determined to climb Sister Superior, Castle Valley. Our guide book was not very accurate. After you turn off of 128, you will go about 2 to 2.5 miles to a parking area at about N38 40.415 W109 23.431.
Once you park you will notice to the east, there is a small trail that leads up the gulch and ridges to the base of Sister Superior. This is a difficult climb. You will hike .82 miles. In that distance you will ascend almost 2000 feet. To get to the base of Sister Superior (the cache) you do not need any special equipment, other then water, and boots.
After the hike, the cache is at the base and starting point of the accent up the rock. The day that Steve and I tried to ascend Sister Superior, the wind was blowing at about 20 mph. We only made the first two pitches of the climb. The wind would not die down, so we repelled back to the base. I was disappointed that I could not place the cache on the top of the rock.
After we came back down I then placed the cache near the starting point of the climb.
It was difficult to get an accurate reading of the cache, because it is so close to the 400 foot tower. When you get there should be no doubt of the location of the cache.
In order to log this cache, you must email me the code phrase found in the container.
Do not include the code phrase in your log, even encrypted. Any logs without the accompanying email or containing the code phrase will be deleted.
