Constellations are names for groups of stars that appear
to form shapes in the sky. They were given their names many hundreds of years
ago to help us remember which stars are which. We use constellations to divide
up the sky; finding one can help us find another because constellations move so
slowly that, in our lifetime, they will always be found in about the same
place.
In order to complete this cache, you should have a GPSr
with “track logging.
First of all, park at the co-ordinates…….N 43°
06.993 W 088° 20.844
Go to the first coordinate in the table below and turn
track logging on. Go down the list
of coordinates one by one, in order (always walking in as straight of lines as
possible). Get close at stage 1 through
8. Your GPSr is now helping you draw a
picture. At the last coordinate, you
will have drawn a picture of one of our most recognizable constellations. Take
a look at your track log.
