Geocache Description:

Located in St. Norbert Heritage Park.

The cache is in a green .50-cal ammo can. It contains various dollar store items. This is a fairly new Provincial Park. It is located where the LaSalle River enters the Red River. This was a concern during the 1997 flood as the floodwaters of the Red may have entered the LaSalle River and bypassed the floodway. This would have caused flooding in the city of Winnipeg. City engineers hastily constructed a Z-dyke to keep the water from reaching the LaSalle River. Fortunately for the City of Winnipeg, the dyke held and flood damage within the City was minimal.
