High on Methane, Low on Air Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cache-tech: Greetings from Geocaching.com

I have had no contact with the cache owner since my last note and there has been no notes posted to the cache page in that time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.
When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to have it reposted, it will be no problem. Just drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page” and clicking the link (Mine) across the top and then click on this cache.

I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.

Thanks for your understanding,
Cache-tech

Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden on a Kitchener landmark. It’s not the type landmark that draws people for it’s beauty, majestic rolling hills, the tree cover and fauna or a great place to have a picnic. What lies under the grass cover and the few trees is a dump. Known over the years as methane mountain, mount trash-more, Kitchener Landfill and is now known as McLennan Park. The above co-ordinates are the start of the trail at the base of the hill.

Please place the cache to the back of the hollow trunk and make sure it is well hidden. The hints should allow you to find it. It is now a smaller container and will only accept small trading items. Used in the summer by kids on mountain bikes and a place to hang out. In the winter it’s used for tobogganing and GT racers. Your quest is to find the cache. There are various degrees of slop to the hill, so depending on your health and how adventurous you are will determine your starting point.

Parking can be found at any of a number of locations on the streets that surround the former landfill. The recommended parking is at the nearby school or on the Shea Cres. where parking is allowed. ( N43 25.116 W80 29.629 ) This is the closest parking near the starting location for the cache. You may start your search at any location around the hill but for the adventurous start at the base of the hill and follow the trail up to the top. (N43 25.156 W80 29.553).

There are four staging areas that you will have to get information to find the cache. Then do a little math and you’re on your way. You may collect the data in any order but make sure you place it next to the appropriate Waypoint.

The accuracy is very good out in the open but poor near the cache. Also check out the two photos to give you orientation of were you should find the cache.

New as of Nov. 16,2003: For those that would like to do the cache but don't want to climb the hill, the hint will have the answers to the 4 questions above. It will be up to you to place them correctly.

If you have done everything correctly and interpreted what was and is needed, the cache is your next quest. Follow the trail until bushwhacking is needed.
