Geocache Description:

The San Jose Diridon Station was originally the end-of-the-line of the San Francisco San Jose Train Company’s line. The company was later purchased by Southern Pacific which operated the peninsula line for many years. Recently, ok over 10 years ago, the line was purchased by the Peninsula Joint Powers Board. The JPB has representatives from San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties.

The station is across the parking lot from the San Jose Arena which causes the parking rates to jump starting about 2 hours before any event. Part of the Guadalupe River Park is on the other side of the Arena. The park has a play area for the kids and a carousel. Free parking is provided for the carousel in the parking lot closest to the park. That is unless an event is happening at the arena. The park also has a cache of it’s own, GCDAD3.
