Geocache Description:

Visit Pete's Harbor and Bair Island, Redwood City for a fun multi-cache.

DO NOT LEAVE GEOCOINS IN THIS CACHE

This is a fairly simple two-stage multicache located off the Whipple Ave exit in Redwood City, CA. The first stage requires you to generate the coordinates to the second stage. (see below)

The final cache is nearby, a short walk of 0.11 miles from parking. DO NOT ATTEMPT to go through the Metal Worker's shop area or around any fences! There is a different way to Stage 2. Strollers would probably be ok for most of the walking involved in finding this cache, except the last few feet.

Enjoy this quiet little harbor while you can... Redwood City is about to authorize a new housing development which would basically level all of Pete's Harbor (which has been here since 1956.) You can find out a lot about Pete Ucelli, the huge number of communitiy activities he's been involved with or sponsered, see pictures of him with various presidents and congressmen, and more by taking a peek in the cooridoors next to the restrooms beneath the Waterfront Restaurant (which is a very nice place for lunch).

The final stage coordinates for the cache are:   N 37° AB.EBD   W 122° CD.CEB
To determine A B C D and E, go to the coordinates posted at the top of the page for this cache. Near the coordinates is a blue sign with black letters.

X= Number of letters in the first word on the sign
Y = Number of letters in the second word on the sign
A = X
B = X + Y
C = X - 1
D = Y - 4
E = Y + 1
Do the easy math and substitutions and enjoy the 2nd stage.
