Geocache Description:

A short walk along the Salmon Falls River on unusual terrain.

Salmon Falls River

The Salmon Falls River forms an attractive section of the boundary between Dover, New Hampshire and South Berwick, Maine. Take Route 101 and park just on the Maine side of the Eliot Bridge at the boat launch park. From there it's a short walk to the cache. There's not really any trail; stick to the shoreline, walking on the 'straw' and marsh grass. It may be a little soggy in places. Best to attempt with low tide, not high tide. I recommend long pants and bug dope--you will likely encounter some combination of flying/jumping pests.

The cache is a Lock & Lock container and contains small trinkets and toys. Please re-cover the cache carefully, and in the same place you found it.

The name of this cache is a reference (an obscure one!) to one of my favorite movies. The first person to log a find AND name this movie in his/her online log will receive a *travel bug tag* free of charge.

***Congratulations to mer45, who on 6/16/03 correctly identified 'Bulging River' as a reference to the movie 'Waiting for Guffman!' Especially impressive since it's a deleted scene! ***

Have fun!
