This almost to the Bench Mark.
We were at the Top of the Reef cache and thought we would log the "Dragon" bench mark that looked fairly close on the map. (visit link)
As it turned out the benck mark is on top of a rock formation surrounded by cliffs. We spent some time looking for a way up and at one time were within 200' of the bench mark. There was a vertical cliff with several hundred feet of exposure so we gave it up. There was a cave at this location so we decided to leave this cache on the ledge below the cave. The surrounding terrain is some of the most spectacular we have seen. We made the trip with out using our rope by going around obstacles. Depending on the route you choose, a rope might be needed.
It is hot here in the summer so plan accordingly.
