Up in the Port Hills, South of Lyttelton Harbour.
From the car park (S43 40.134 E172 46.275, 438m) at the summit of the Purau to Port Levy road walk 40m S along the road, cross the fence at the stile, and then follow the farm track steadily uphill SW until reaching the zig zag corner at S43 40.917 E172 45.985 (664m). Then proceed E up onto the ridge. The cache is at about the same elevation (664m) at the western base of The Monument. It will take about 40 minutes to reach the cache from the car park.
The cache is a 2 litre camo painted container, with "GEO CACHE" painted on the lid.
