Stumped at 40 Degrees Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

erik88l-r: Sad to see the cache has been muggled. [:(]
I've archived it. Perhaps The Davis Clan can place a new one in the area? I can unarchive this listing, or a new one can be submitted.
Thanks for the past fun!

Geocache Description:

If you find this cache, you will really be stumped.

This cache is located on the Hachimantai Plateu. You can reach this one by parking at the parking area at the junction of highways 23 and 341.

You can take the high road or you can take the low road. You will converge at the half dome igneious rock formation. Take your last good GPS reading right before you head into the treeline and follow your azmith to the cache. The heavy tree cover may frustrate your quest. Head into the woods through the bamboo grass. Stay to the south of the small water channel and you will do just fine.

Decrypt the message below for the exact location--this one is a real spoiler. Feel free to decrypt it on the spot if you need to.

There is sporatic Poison Ivy in the area, but not in the direct path of the cache. Use a little environmental awareness in the area and take the opportunity to teach any children what to look for. Remember--"Leaves of three, leave them be"

There are several outstanding camping locations in this area. There are also some really awesome "stealth camping" locations in this area.

We highly recommed that you take the time to check out the two volcanic spots in this area. Both of them have spectacular onsens. They are Tamagawa which can be found if you go south on 341 and Goshogake which is located off of highway 23 back towards Hachimantai Peak. The Onsen at at Tamagawa is some of the most acidic water in Japan. The entrance to Tamagawa is located at N39.58.150--140.43.686. Great trailhead for a hike up to the crater here also.
