The cache is located on Virginia peak at the end of Warm springs valley AKA Palomino valley. Go in from Pyramid HWY. Take first road by the wild mustang ranch. Go thruogh the valley(see map)to Wilcox ranch and turn left on Quaking Aspen. The Route to the cache is maintained dirt road, however it is a little rough in spots. Most cars should be able to make the journey during good weather. Once you reach the end of the road the cache is about 150 yards away and the terrain is rocky.
2wd vehicles should not attempt in winter or wet conditions.
The cache is a small Green ammo box and originally contained:
log book, pencil
golf balls
lighter
pocket knife
Brookstone mini alarm clock/calendar/calculator.
There is also a camera in the cache. Please take your picture and leave the camera and the pencil sharpener in the cache. The view alone is worth the trip. The altitude is about 7500 feet. On a clear day you can see the following: Reno, Fernley, Wadsworth,Nixon,Fallon,and The Truckee River. And Pyramid Lake from the south peak. Enjoy!
