Leaf-Peeper: This geocache (in *Massachusetts*) is being archived. I haven't been able to go and investigate it and now with winter here, I probably won't be able to until early springtime. Although I've used the "temporarily disabled" listing to keep folks from seeking it until things are resolved, it looks like the geocaching mothers want some action taken.... Poof! (so it's now archived).

Geocache Description:

Located in the Peter E. Bertozzi, Squannacook Wildlife Management Area off of Townsend Road in West Groton. An easy 10 to 15 minute walk from the parking area. Suitable for small children, most of the trail surface is fairly wide, mostly level and well packed. Those with bikes, cross-country skis, strollers, kid wagons and even wheelchairs should be able to easily navigate the majority of the trail.

Take some time to explore the area. One unusual item of interest is a USGS Water Gauging Station on the riverbank, 1 of over a 100 located in Massachusetts. Bring the bathing suite if the weather is warm, it’s a nice swimming area in the summertime.

The cache is a rectangular Tupperware container with a tan cover. The contents of the cache, its theme or topic is simply about kids. Please bring some neat stuff for the young ones and help make their hike in seem more worthwhile.

When walking in, bear left when you come to the big fork in the road (important for wheelchairs!).

If it’s warm weather, bring a bathing suite to this cache!!! The swimming and rope swing are great. Enjoy the scenery, but bring the bug spray & water bottle and check for ticks when you get back to the car.
