The GeoROCKS! 500 - Pole Position Multi-cache

Exactly 528 feet from this spot is where it all began. rlecour (as GeoROCKS! used to call himself) found his first cache over there by the Creekside one year ago. He "Didn't see a logbook, so couldn't sign in..." even though the picture he took at the time shows the large, colorful log book laying right on top of cache!. (Ah, he was such a rookie way back then!) Directions to his next milestone are in that logbook on the page he should have used.

A short drive and just a walk in the park away is the site of GeoROCKS!'s 100th find which he did on his birthday. In celebration he released the Richard, the Jedi Knight travel bug which has no stated goal, yet has already managed to travel an impressive distance. (Not unlike it's namesake?) The cache isn't there anymore but at bearing 280 you will find a pole. The least number on the pole is a. The greatest is b. The number of numbers on the pole is c.

By the time he lead an urban assault on his 200th find, interrupting his daily travels for a cache had become routine for GeoROCKS! The increasing presences of micros, such as this one, made it likely that no matter where he went a cache would be close at hand and he was now finding them about 3 times a day. Having had enough of the micro explosion for a little while, GeoROCKS! started to slow down and ended up relaxing down on the farm for his 300th find. By now R had developed a practiced caching eye and could often approach an area, just stick out his hand and touch the hidden container. He came to refer to this as his ''caching karma''. It's a useful ability to have, particularly when you're a grown man often seen hanging around the bushes in playgrounds and parks. A bit behind this piece of equipment is the pole Davey inspected. By the time he found his 400th cache GeoROCKS! had considerably increased his search area. He'd developed a program that would show him only the caches along his travel route. No more 50-mile-radius bubbles, just a 2-mile-wide corridor of caches! And for this milestone he traveled far outside the local area to a point past Sacramento on Auburn Rd. The middle of the most prominent number at this Auburn location is u. The value of w is, of course, twice as much.

427 Traditional, 25 Virtual, 26 Multi, 14 Locationless, 4 Unknown, 2 Event, 1 Webcam and 365 days later, GeoROCKS! is now poised for his latest milestone: #500! It can be found at a place he might find interesting and even familiar, though he found nothing at all there before. While searching for another cache a minor mistake in calculating the distance between two points led him to look for it in this spot, a place nearly 12 miles from the correct location. At least, when he did find that cache, he remembered to sign the logbook!
