How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This is the first cache to be placed at the lovely island Tåsinge. More precisely the location is Troense – an old idyllic village, which used to be inhabited by sailors and ship owners. From the Pilot Beach (Lodsstranden), where the cache is hidden, pilots in the old days sailed out to guide vessels through the narrow Svendborg Sund.

The cache contains:

wet wipe
small candle
pair of sunglasses
teddy bear
bell
rabbit
Nessie (the Loch Ness-monster)
coins (one Malaysian and one Norwegian)
snail shell
FTF-certificate
log book + pencil

After finding the cache we can recommend to follow the beach from Troense to the castle, Valdemar Slot, which was build 1639-1644 by Christian IV and today houses several museums. In the summertime it is possible to return to Troense with the veteran ferry “Helge”.
