Easy kayak to an island on a remote New Hampshire pond. Easy put-in.
This cache is rated a 5 due to the fact that it can only be accessed by boat. It is hidden on one of New Hampshire's most scenic kayak/canoe ponds. Because motor boats are not allowed and there are only a couple of cottages, this is a primo place. Great swimming, lots of loons and several islands to explore. You will need a kayak/canoe to find this cache during open water. You can walk to it once the pond is frozen and the ice is thick enough, but snow will obscure this cache.
June 19, 2010... We were on the island today and couldn't get near this cache due to blow downs. The place was a mess. Was tempted to archive the cache until we get out there with boots and pants, but saw that it had been found in May after the blow down. If anyone tries this cache let us know if you couldn't get to the cache area. We were in sandals and it made the search impossible.
