Krypton: As there's been no response to my previous note, I assume that the cache is not going to be repaired or replaced, so I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Geocache Description:

This is a puzzle cache where you need to solve two geometry problems to find the coordinates. This is a sign-only micro cache. The container is a black plastic film canister, so bring your own pen.

The coordinates at the top of this page are not the actual coordinates of the cache! You must determine the actual coordinates by solving the puzzle.

In the picture below, the square is inscribed in a right triangle (with the 90 degree angle at B). If AD is 17 and GC is 27, what's the area of the square? Note that measuring the picture won't work because it's not to scale.

The three digits of the answer are the values for H, I and J.

For the second problem, think of a standard rectangular box. You know the areas of the top, side, and front. The top is 96 square inches, the side is 56 square inches, and the front is 84 square inches. What is the volume in cubic inches?

The three digits of this answer are the values for K, L and M.

Now, convert these values to coordinates as follows:

U = I - 4
V = U - 1
W = J - H + 3
X = L - 5
Y = M - 1
Z = K - 2

The cache is located at a latitude of 37° 19.UVW′ and a longitude of 122° 01.XYZ′.

As a final check, the answers for U, V, W, X, Y, and Z add up to a number whose last digit is 6.
