A medium difficulty cache. Terrain difficulty varies greatly with weather and season. (2.5 when warm, low water; 3.5 most of the time; 5 when ice—see below)
Some wonderful scenery to be seen here. This is one of my favorite local areas. Cache safely, bring a friend.
There is public parking nearby. I suggest you walk NE along the road from the parking lot down the hill to the pedestrian bridge, and start your search from there. During the cold months, you may wish to locate a short trail along the side of the marina parking lot. This route is less scenic, but it is much safer when there is ice or the water is moving quickly.
There are a few somewhat dangerous hazards here that you may encounter including fast moving water, slippery rocks, and reports of possibly unstable structures. These are all easy to avoid if you look for them. Please do not take moss from the surrounding rocks to recover the cache. This is not necessary or intended.
ICE ADVISORY: I have confirmed that the combination of water and rocks in the area will form some very dangerous ice. This cache can still be safely attempted if you approach from the south. Walk along the edge of the marina parking lot until you come to a small trail. Stay away from the brook and the rocks near there.
