Dies ist ein Multi-Cache. Er besteht aus insgesamt 6 Stationen. Station 3 ist ein Micro-Cache (Filmdöschen) und Station 6 ist der Final-Cache. Zum Lösen der Rätsel benötigt Ihr Zettel, Stift und evtl. Taschenrechner. Parken könnt Ihr an folgenden Koordinaten: N 50° 33.560 E 009° 40.340. Am meisten Spaß macht der Cache, wenn ihr den Text erst vor Ort durchlest. Notiert euch bitte die Ergebnisse der einzelnen Stationen. Ihr benötigt sie später. Die Geschichte vom tapferen Mönch ist frei erfunden, aber in jeder Geschichte steck ja ein Fünkchen Wahrheit :-)
Der tapfere Mönch
Eine alte Überlieferung berichtet von einem tapferen Mönch, der einst den Klosterschatz des Fuldaer Klosters rettete. Der Name des Mönchs war Augustinus. Eines Tages war Augustinus auf dem Weg vom Stadtschloss zum Kloster. Er hatte gerade eine Besprechung mit dem Fürsten von Fulda gehabt und beunruhigende Neuigkeiten erfahren. Feindliche Truppen standen kurz vor Fulda und es bestand die Gefahr, dass es zu Plünderungen kommen konnte, wenn sie die Stadt einnehmen sollten. Diese schlechten Nachrichten sollte Augustinus nun seinem Abt verkünden.
Auf dem Weg zum Kloster kam Augustinus an der Pestsäule vorbei (Koordinaten N 50° 33.582 E 009° 40.316). Diese Säule wurde zur Erinnerung an die große Pest Epidemie errichtet, die vor Jahren in Fulda wütete. Und nun stand Fulda schon wieder eine Katastrophe bevor. Augustinus betrachtete die Säule. Dabei fielen Ihm zwei Symbole in die Augen, die sich unten auf der Säule befinden. Die Symbole stellen zwei Himmelskörper dar.
Aufgabe:
Um Augustinus auf dem Weg ins Kloster zu folgen, müsst Ihr die einzelnen Buchstaben der deutschen Namen für die zwei Himmelskörper addieren. (A=1, B=2, C=3,…, Y=25, Z=26). Das Ergebnis ist A. Bildet auch noch die Quersumme von A. Die Quersumme ist B. Die nächsten Koordinaten sind: N 50° 33.(546 + A) E 009° 40.(103 + A)
Augustinus ging weiter. Er hatte wirklich Wichtigeres zu tun, als sich diese alte Säule anzuschauen. Auf dem Weg zum Kloster fiel sein Blick auf die Anbaufläche zu seiner Linken. Er hoffte inständig, dass diese Anbaufläche während des Angriffs nicht vernichtet werden würde. Es hatte die Mönche so viel Arbeit gekostet sie anzulegen.
Aufgabe:
Was wird hier angebaut? Der Anbau ist in dieser Region sehr selten. Übersetzt die einzelnen Buchstaben des Lösungsworts wieder in Zahlen, addiert die Zahlen und bildet danach die Quersumme. Die Quersumme ist C.
Augustinus erreichte das Kloster und erzählte dem Abt von der drohenden Gefahr. Dieser war in großer Sorge um das Wohl der Mönche und schickte sie sofort aus der Stadt in ein Versteck im Wald, wo sie in Sicherheit waren. Augustinus gab er noch einen letzten aber wichtigen Auftrag bevor auch er sich in Sicherheit bringen sollte. Er sollte den kostbaren Klosterschatz verstecken, damit er beim Angriff nicht geraubt würde. Augustinus machte sich also auf den Weg durch den angrenzenden Park, um ein Versteck für den Klosterschatz zu finden.
Aufgabe:
Um Augustinus folgen zu können, müsst ihr euch das Portal der Klosterkirche anschauen. Wie viele Stufen führen zur Eingangstür hinauf? Multipliziert die Anzahl der Stufen mit der Anzahl der Laternen am Portal der Klosterkirche. Das Ergebnis ist D. Die nächsten Koordinaten sind: N 50° 33.C3B E 009° 40.(D * 20)
Schon nach einigen Metern hatte Augustinus eine Stelle gefunden, die als Versteck für den Klosterschatz dienen könnte. Allerdings war das Versteck zu klein, um den ganzen Klosterschatz darin zu verstecken.
Aufgabe:
Sucht das Versteck, in dem Augustinus den Klosterschatz verstecken wollte. Dort findet ihr eine kleine Dose mit weiteren Anweisungen.
Augustinus ging schnell zu einem anderen abgeschiedenen Ort im Park. Er kam oft hier her, um in Ruhe zu beten. Er nahm sich auch diesmal wieder die Zeit für ein kurzes Gebet. Dann schaute er sich nach einem passenden Versteck für den Klosterschatz um. Trotz intensiver Suche konnte er kein geeignetes Versteck finden. Er musste also weitersuchen.
Aufgabe:
Um Augustinus zu folgen sucht nach der Darstellung eines Tieres. Welches Tier wird dargestellt? Übersetzt die Buchstaben der Antwort in Zahlen und addiert sie. Das Ergebnis ist G. Die nächsten Koordinaten sind: N 50° 33.(675 + G) E 009° 40.(214 - G)
Da Augustinus den rechten Teil des Parks bereits nach passenden Verstecken durchsucht hatte, schlug er den linken Weg ein.
Augustinus kam nun zu seinem Lieblingsplatz im Park. Dort setzte er sich erst einmal auf die Bank und dachte an all die schönen Zeiten, die er hier im Kloster verbracht hatte. Sein Blick viel auf die Statue vor ihm. Sie zeigte sein großes Vorbild. Plötzlich hörte er Kampflärm aus der Stadt. Er hatte nicht mehr viel Zeit den Klosterschatz zu verstecken. Da hatte er eine gute Idee für ein Versteck außerhalb der Klostermauern. (Bitte nicht das Klostergelände betreten! Es ist Privatbesitz!)

Augustinus macht sich auf zu dem Ort, an dem er den Klosterschatz verstecken will. Um ihm zu folgen löst folgende Aufgabe. Wie viele Tiere zeigt die Statue des Vorbilds von Augustinus? Das Ergebnis ist H. Die Koordinaten der letzen Station sind: N 50° 33.C(C-3)(F-6) E 009° 40.(89 + G) *H

You will need them later. The story of the brave monk is only a fictitious story but there is some truth in every story :
The brave monk
Old stories tell us about a brave monk who saved the treasure of the Fulda monastery long ago. The name of the monk was Augustinus. One day Augustinus was on his way from Fulda Castle to the monastery. He had a meeting with the prince of Fulda who had told him some really bad news. Enemy troops were close to Fulda and there was the possibility that they would plunder the town if they would enter it. Now it was on Augustinus to tell this bad news to his abbot.
On his way to the monastery Augustinus came to the "Pestsäule" (Coordinates: N 50° 33.582 E 009° 40.316). This pillar was built in memory for the plague that had hit Fulda several years ago. And now there would be a new catastrophe for Fulda. Augustinus looked at the pillar. There he saw two symbols that are representing some celestial bodies.
Task:
To follow Augustinus to the monastery you must translate the characters of the German words for the symbols into numbers and summarize them (A=1, B=2, C=3,…, Y=25, Z=26). The result is A. Also get the cross sum of the result. The cross sum is B. If you don't know the German words then decrypt this hint: ZBAQ FBAAR. The next coordinates are: N 50° 33.(546 + A) E 009° 40.(103 + A)
But Augustinus had other things to think of than this old pillar. So he went on to the monastery. On his way he looked at the field to his left. He really hoped that this field would not be devastated by the enemy troops. It was a lot of work for the monks to cultivate it.
Task:
What is cultivated on this field? The cultivation of this plant is very rare in this region. Translate the characters of the word into numbers and summarize them. Then get the cross sum. The result is C. If you don't know the German word then decrypt this hint: JRVA.
Augustinus reached the monastery and told the abbot about the upcoming danger. The abbot was in great sorrow about the health of the monks in the monastery. So he sent all the monks into a hiding place in the forest outside of Fulda. There they would be save. He also gave Augustinus a last task before he could leave the monastery, too. Augustinus should hide the treasure of the monastery so that it couldn't be plundered during the attack. Augustinus immediately entered the park searching for a hiding place for the treasure.
Task:
To follow Antonius you must look at the portal of the church. How many steps lead to the front door? Multiplicate the number of steps with the number of laterns at the portal of the church. The result is D. The next coordinates are: N 50° 33.C3B E 009° 40.(D * 20)
After a few metres Augustinus had found a place where he could hide the treasure. But the hiding place was too small to put the whole treasure in it.
Task:
Search for the hiding place in which Augustinus wanted to put the treasure. There is a small box inside with the next instructions.
Augustinus went to another quiet place in the park. He often came here to pray. When he reached the place he had a short prayer, too. Then he looked for a hiding place for the treasure. But he couldn't find a good place. Therefore he continued his search.
Task:
To follow Augustinus you must find a representation of an animal. What animal can you see? Translate the characters into numbers and summarize them. The result is G. If you do not know the German word then decrypt this hint: FPUYNATR The next coordinates are: N 50° 33.(675 + G) E 009° 40.(214 - G)
Because Augustinus had already searched in the right part of the park he decided to take the left way down the hill.
Now Augustinus reached his favourite place in the park. He took a short brake and thought of all the good times he had here in the monastery. He looked at the statue in front of him. It showed his idol. Suddenly he heard the sound of fighting out of the town. There wasn't much time left to hide the treasure. Suddenly he had a good idea where he could hide the treasure outside the monastery (Please do not enter the monastery! It's private ground!)
