Geocache Description:

This cache is located along a beautiful trail that includes the 1855 relic "The Hermitage House" - which is alleged to be haunted by "the coachman". I recommend starting the trek at N43 14.219 x W079 59.928. (Using the honour system, the Hamilton Region Conservation Authority requests visitors with vehicles to pay a parking fees of $2 per adult or $5 per car load.)

In keeping with the myths surrounding Hermitage House, this cache follows a ghost / haunted theme. The area is closed to visitors at sunset, so don't attempt the cache within an hour of dark. You can enter the BT (red) trail just to the right of the large posted map. (Your location on this map is P4).

In addition to a Log Book, Pencils and pencil sharpener, the cache contained the following items when originally placed:
1) Package of Ghost Erasers
2) "Scream Pen"
3) Ghost Craft Kit
4) Spooky "Wacky Walker"
5) Ghost Pupet (in plastic ziplock)
6) Glow-in-the-dark Skeleton
7) Glow-in-the-dark Bats (2)

An document (in plastic ziplock) outlines the haunted history of the Hermitage House and includes a specific story that allegedly took place not too long ago.

Walking the entire trail will take you full circle and about 1 hour. Remember - if it does get dark while you're on the trail, keep your eyes open for the ghost of the coachman. And when he calls out "come to me" - don't go.

Please - if you take something, leave something. Depleting the cache makes it no fun for the next guy . And please don't put dangerous or unwise items in the cache like knives, cigarettes, lighters, dog food, etc. Keep the fun in it.
