A day trip to Bourne Pond in the Lye Brook Wilderness. If it is a rainy season, expect a lot of mud.
This is a nice area right by a camp site. The trail head I usually take is at N 43°04.658 W073°01.067. There are plenty of other trails to get in there, too. It is about a 2.5 mile hike in. Enjoy the hike in and bring a lunch. If you are feeling adventurous, there are three other caches in the area (fairly large area, but they are near).
Cache contains a bunch of camping items. Usually a bunch of buddies and I hike up here every September and stay for a couple nights. If you have time ..... spend a weekend. I have seen some of the most beautiful nights with the stars over the pond and the quietness of the woods.
When we carried the cache in, we forgot a log book. So we got inventive with the Log Book. Hopefully everyone enjoys it.
