On top of first red hill east of Cedar City, UT. Somewhat difficult and steep terrain. Small ammo can is placed in a crack in the rocks.
This cache may make you breath hard. Its located midway along the ridge of the red hill east of Cedar City. It can be approached from any direction, but easiest from the west side. Take the golf course entrance and keep going till you pass a dike. Take next right and park before road becomes too steep to drive. On foot, continue up the steep dirt road to the top of a small ridge. The road splits. Go left and continue till the road ends. This will put you at a good starting point. From here the route is up to you. There is no trail. Choose wisely. Loose rock abounds. Bring a friend and/or let someone know where you are going. Bring food and plenty of water. Dress appropriately for the weather. Once you get to the top, enjoy a great view of Cedar City and beyond. Roundtrip is 2-3 hours depending on your fitness level. Cached items include sewing kit, tire gauge, blistex, crayons, toy jax, tape measure, waterproof match case, hockey puck, Chums eyeglass holder, cheap flashlight, and tweezers.
