Greatland Reviewer: Hello:

This cache page has been archived due to the lack of response to one or more prior Reviewer Note(s) about issue(s) with the cache and because the Cache Owner has not been online since August. If the owner would like to have the cache unarchived, please contact me through my profile as soon as possible before another cache gets placed nearby.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page requires it to go through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

Located in the Moose Creek Diversion area, this cache is not usually susceptible to flooding and is situated to be accessible year-round.

The Cub Scouts of North Pole Pack 49 have hidden this GIANT GEOCACHE in the woods where travel is not difficult(in the Summer that is! the snow in the winter is neck Deep on a Wolf Scout!), but finding this geocache without a GPS is very unlikely.

There is a place to park on the Southeast side (opposite side of the road) of the levee. In this parking lot, the hike to the geocache is easy (again in the Summer when we placed it - I suggest snowshoes in the Winter). The levee and parking area do not show on the maps for this area. Follow Lawrence Road toward the Chena Lakes Recreation Area, and let your GPS be your guide.

The Cache container is a large 5-gallon bucket that is attached to a tree (it's "closer" to the ground in the winter :-) ). The tree is in a small clearing (but does that make any sense?), so your GPS should get good readings and the tree will be easy to find.

Original contents of this cache include:

Two Travel Bugs:
Road Froggy
Gilbert the Gargiggle
Multipurpose Tool,
Sunglasses,
Watch (runs great but the battery is weak),
Very Small Whistle,
United Way Hands Pin,
Wooden Nickel good fro one free game at Arctic Bowl,
Two Green Frogs,
Three Halloween Pencils,
Arco Alaska Pen,
Alyeska Pipeline Pen,
Camouflage Glider,
Phillips 66 Golf Tees and two Ball Markers,
Mardi Gras Coins and beads,
“No Problem” Pin,
Hershey’s Charm on a necklace,
Hershey Bar Pin,
GM Keychain

Since the Cache is GIANT, it can hold even the largest of travel bugs.

Visit this GIANT GEOCACHE and post your photos, trade out travel bugs and exchange bootie! Mose of all, have a GREAT BIG GIANT BUNCH OF FUN!

Cheers, Northern Trekker and Cub Scout Pack 49

UPdate 6/25/15 - Seems as though this cache may be lost (found by non-geocachers?)- I am changing status to indicate as such.
