Geocache Description:


In the 1830’s the Indian Princess Hononegah, and Fur Trader Stephen Mack married. They settled in Winnebago county and now have a few things named after them. Stephen Mack is the middle school in Rockton, Hononegah is the High School. Stephen Mack also has a Forest Preserve named after him, as does Hononegah. Macktown and Hononegah Forest Preserves respectively. The Macktown Forest Preserve hosts a "Gathering at Macktown," which is a historic reenactment every year in the spring.

Park at N 42 27.006 W 89 05.120. The cache is down the short trail near the Blinn Ferry. You are looking for a green painted gallon plastic container.

In this cache you will find many things having to do with trading. Baseball cards, trading card holder, matchbox cars, some water skimmers, and an Indian style coin purse. You will also find additional co-ordinates. The co-ordinates that you find are one set of co-ordinates you will need to take you to the Princess and Stephen Together Again cache. In order to find the other set of co-ordinates for Princess and Stephen Together Again you will first need to find Princess Hononegah cache.

11/17/03 This morning we went to check on all the caches in this series. This cache is still available. We added treasures from the other caches to this one. Unfortunately, it is necessary to archive the other two caches in this series. Again, this cache is still hidden!!
