Resistance is (STILL) Futile... Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

WeBeDnD: Sorry folks, but this place just gets nastier every day. I came by today to replace the cache, but ever since the Circuit City (get it, circuits?, ah, whatever) went out of business, this place is literally going to the dogs or cats or something they are leaving behind. Not to mention the severe pile up of junk, trash and whatever nasty stuff the people leave behind. My God, I can't believe you people even signed that naaaaassssty cache. Phew! Don't fret though. I'll make another puzzle similar to this one. After all, we must keep humanity safe from the borg.

Geocache Description:

Larger than a micro, but smaller than a regular cache.
4 Star rating is a function of puzzle and hide methodology.
The cache is not at the posted coordinates, but it is on dry land in Mountain View.

Just when you thought it was safe to return to the universe, guess who shows up again?
The BORG is heading our way, and making final preparations to assimilate us all into The Collective. But the BORG are still lacking a few components to complete their latest assimilator before they can carry out their mission. The BORG agents on Earth have staged those remaining components in a well hidden cache to be beamed up to the mothership as soon as the ship gets within in range. If they acquire those components, well, let's just say we'll all get to know each other better.

But there is hope. Our defense department agents have acquired a small portion of the schematic for the high frequency broadband passive-resistive assimilating/transmogrifying bi-polar optically-coupled low emissions soundproof oscillating frammis flange transducer circuit which they believe holds the clue to the location of the cache. This is not like any assimilator circuit we've seen before! By analyzing other intelligence, they have also determined that if enough of the components in the cache could be replaced with components from your old TVs, VCRs, PCs, radios, cell phones, etc., the BORG will unwittingly use those wrong components to complete their work. Our agents believe this will result in total incapacity of the BORG once they power up their ‘loaded’ assimilator. (Kind of like my first electronics project – it was supposed to be a time machine, but it turned out to be just another light dimmer. )

So please do not delay! Our very fate depends on your efforts to find that cache and fill it with old useless but interesting looking electronic parts! Energize! Make it so.

P.S. The cache is NOT in any ivy. The BORG does not like ivy.
