This cache has been archived.

Nomex: Hi
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, [RED]and assuming it still meets the guidelines[/RED], we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Don't hesitate to email me via the link on my Profile if you have any questions. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GC Code, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

Sunny, Ocean View, With Redwoods in Big Basin State Park. Upper 236 @ China Grade.

This is a nice sunny area to take the family and experience a great view. Near the cache site is a picnic bench to take a rest. (Dogs no longer allowed) From Boulder Creek, the best way to get there is by driving 236/Big Basin Hwy to China Grade Road, keep driving the steep road (China Grade) near the top. There is legal parking near the starting point. Look for a gated Big Basin service road and start from there. Once on the service road stay to the left (follow road marker/to lodge rd) because the road comes to a fork.(Dont go down the other service road) You can go either way to find the cache spot but the easiest is to head up the road you started on and you'll be there in no time. Please watch for small patches of poison oak near the cache site. Also, a poison oak plant decided to vine it self up the middle of the bush the box is hiding in so be cautious! Coords for the parking area N 37 11.666 W 122 11.607. The walk is rather easy with only one short hill climb. I hope you enjoy the view and have a safe visit. Also, watch for UFO's! Google "big basin ufo" :) Strange events taking place around the park so I hear, but I havnt seen anything myself. This area can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
