Geocache Description:

Cache is located on Quail island in Lyttelton Harbour, just off the main beach and picnic area and about 20 minutes from the Ferry jetty.

Access to the island is by Ferry ( basically a service for picnickers) or by kayak or boat. The location was used for quarantining and acclimatisation purposes by a member of Shackleton's expeditionary entourage (who?) in 1911. The cache is a 1 litre green painted snap lock containing:
- McGill U yo-yo
- bubble mix
- lobster
- key-clip
- pack of insulation tape
- and a paradise duck
