How badly do you need an excuse to get outside to hunt some "cold cache"? Parking at N43* 14.213, W089* 43.763, but no vehicles are allowed up to the shelter at the event site. What better than a good hike (.6 mile and about 300 foot climb) up a closed road to a warm old log shelter house to get ready to cache?

Bring cross-country skis, snowshoes, and/or good boots, warm up with hot chocolate or coffee and cache through the snow (if there is any) on the top of Blackhawk Ridge.
Lots of great trails (top terraine to caches is about 1 1/2), over 10 temporary caches hidden, FREE pocket warmers to the first ten cachers to arrive. bring sandwiches and enjoy comraderie around the fireplace between cache hunts.
