Castle-/Kastelenseries 3: SELDENSATE CASTLE Multi-cache

09-06-2010: In de loop der jaren is de schrijfwijze van rekenopdrachten door de intrede van computers nogal veranderd. Ik heb in deze tekst mijn best gedaan om alle opdrachten om te zetten naar een hedendaagse schrijfwijze. Voor onduidelijkheden in het veld : ab = axb = a*b !

N.B.: dd. 22-07-2012 werd opdracht "Hoekje" aanzienlijk gewijzigd ==> gebruik "verse" uitdraai !

There is not much left of the former Seldensate castle (+/- 1490) . Like most of these castles or mansions in the area Seldensate originates from the 15th century.

The area was a popular one because of the vicinity of the city of 's-Hertogenbosch.

The mansions were mostly lived in in summer and/or in times of the plague or disturbances and rebellion.  Most of them were abandoned after the "80-Years war/Tachtigjarige oorlog" which ended in 1648.

There must have been some 10 of these "speelhuizen" in the Berlicum area of wich only from the Wamberg ( => Bridge to Bridge, and Beyond : GCHDTC )and Seldensate visible signs are left.

Seldensate castle itself is no more than a ruin, but the gatehouse and pigeontower were kept (and partly restorated in 1980). This contained the entry/gate , a brewery , stables , guestquarters and the gatekeepersquarter.

Nowadays, Seldensate castle and it's park are open to pedestrians only.

The length of the route is approximately 2 km., but it will require much more time then you'd expect !

START this route at the outer gate : N 51 39.743   E 005 24.598.

• Go to Poorthuis: N 51 39.789   E 005 24.585
• The pigeontower's E , SE and S-sides contain a number of "birdwindows"  = C+2.("vogelramen"  in O , ZO an Z-zijden van de toren)

• Go to the Ruin: N 51 39.817   E 005 24.559
• the number of windows = D.(aantal ramen)
• the number of steps from SW down onto the deepest tiled floor = E.(aantal treden/stappen vanuit ZW omlaag naar de laagste tegelvloer)

• Do not go to "Hoekje" at: N = . C² + E² + 2*D - D/5        E = . 102*D + 4*E + 2*C anymore
• here - at the left topside of the lowest "circle" - you had to locate a cannister containing next important information: A = G*X + (F/E)*(C + E) and B = D*Y + G + F - F/E

• Go to : N 51 39.799   E 005 24.557 and find yourself nearby a huge fallen tree ( een grote, omgezaagde boom).
• Locate the alu tag about halfway and on the westside of the trunk(alu plaatje halverwege de stam en aan de westzujde ervan): X = ..

• Now, go NW to a bridge : halfway on the right handlebar find a sticker with the Y-key.(sticker halverwege de re leuningvan de brug met Y-formule).

• Go to Paal : N 51 39.805   E 005 24.412
• the lowest/smallest of 2 figures = F; the highest = G.(kleinste cijfer = F,grootste = G)

• Go to: Cachekeypoint: N 51 39.(D+2*F)(X-E-D)(X-Y)    E 5 24.F(E/2)(Y-D) .
• at the cachekeypoint you'll find an alu tag on a big tree at 2 meters high and with a bright view .Het mogelijk niet goed leesbare leesteken is een * !

• CACHEKEY
• Bearing/Peiling 1: Cache ==> Paal = S° true.
• Bearing/Peiling 2: Cache ==> Hoekje = T° true.  schrik niet van halve graden!

• To find out the cachecoords => play with your GPSr/ maak een kruispeiling.

• Locate the cache !
