Its picnic time for the family small cost to enter but if you make
it a full day then its a cheap day out. You could also walk in from
nearby roads if you look at your street map you will see its only a
short distance.
Leschenaultia Leisure: There may be a cost involved if you wish to
enter via the gate but it should be possible to walk in from the
adjoining roads nearby.
Family outings have been held here for as long as we know. The
unique fresh water lake and pleasant setting have made it popular
throughout the years. The usual thing is to try to swim across the
lake but as we all learn the fresh water doesn’t have the
same buoyancy as sea water so it gets to be difficult adventure.
There are camping facilities and BBQs and you can also hire a canoe
($10 presently). There are cycle tracks and bush walks. So make
sure you spend the full day here with your family. 6pm is closing
time and they lock the gates to cars so it may be possible to gain
entry after hours on foot but we haven’t investigated this
idea so we will let others reason with the idea of dodging the fee.
The ALL PARKS pass from CALM doesn’t apply to here
either.
The cache isn’t far from one of the many Gazebos and is easy
to find. We were trying to write the log book and gather rocks to
hide the cache but the March flies were vicious so we had to hurry
(you may notice it looks hastily placed). Therefore if future
visitors would kindly add a ROCK to help hide the cache a little
better it would be appreciated.
The contents of the cache is mostly the usual items and a few
special ones collected from other caches we have visited (you could
call it recycling).
The coordinates may not be as accurate as we like because we had to
keep hopping around and swatting March flies. If you think you can
home in better then post your new coordinates with your log
entry.
