BE AWARE! This location can, on occasion, be inundated by salt water on either side of the dirt road. DO NOT attempt to walk on the salt flats unless there has been a long dry spell. Even then, be very careful where you walk. There is PLENTY to see from the road without having to venture into the more questionable areas. It's well worth the drive.
This location has to be seen to be appreciated.
I call this place 'Life Interrupted' because that is exactly what happened. This place was taken by the sea so quickly that there are still vehicles parked in carports and keys in the locks.
Update: Feb 4, 2010 - It seems the location has been cleaned up finally. I haven't had a chance to go see for myself. So until then, I'll have to disable the cache to prevent sending anyone on a wild goose chase across the desert for nothing. Some really wonderful pictures have been uploaded to the gallery over the years however. So be sure to check them out. As far as caches go, this one had a good run at seven years.
