This place is the GEOGRAPHIC centre of urban Melbourne, as calculated by the Department of Sustainability and Environment. The ABS places the DEMOGRAPHIC centre of Melbourne just a few hundred metres west, in Gardiner Parade.

To retrieve the cache you may have to do a little climbing, depending on which direction you come in. It would probably be slippery after rain so be careful.
