The trail for this multi-cache is patterned after the "Occoquan Ramble" by The CacheRats who in turn patterned their hunt after the "Black Mountain Ramble" by Wanderlust and Laughing Moon. It is designed as a fun cache for those who may be "fair weather" cachers and for those who don't have a lot of mobility. This is not a difficult cache and the whole family can participate (young ones may even learn a bit about how the library works).
The goal is to fill in the following blanks:
___ ___ ___ . ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
Doing so will give you the Dewey Decimal Number of a book in the Potomac Library that's hollowed out to hold the cache logbook and a few toys and trinkets for the finders. Once you find it, you will know it, but you won't find it by random searching.
To begin, you will need to start at the Potomac Mills Mall (NOTE: You will NOT be required to enter any stores during your adventure, and you will NOT have to walk the entire length of the mall). Go in the Mall entrance located at 38*38.722 North and 77*17.604 West. Take note of the name of the first store on your left. Take the number off the name of the store and SUBTRACT 5. Enter this number in the FIRST space to the RIGHT of the decimal point.
Continue forward to the optical shop and note the address number of the store at the bottom left of the doorway. Take the middle number of this address and place it in the THIRD space to the RIGHT of the decimal point.
Now turn right. Go up three sets of ramps and continue until you come to a "T" intersection. There is a store directly in front of you with a number in its name. Write this number in the very FIRST blank (three spaces LEFT of the decimal point).
Turn right down the hall.
Continue down the hall, staying to the left side and go up another ramp, past the Build a Bear Factory. Take a break at the massage chairs, then continue up two more ramps to the food court. Write the food court's neighborhood number in the SECOND space to the LEFT of the decimal point. (If you aren't sure, double check on a mall map.)
Turn right into the food court. Find the store that many would consider the sweetest in the whole mall (although as far as its location in the food court -- hopefully only Willy Wonka would consider lunching here). Count the number of letters in the store name, subtract 1, and write this number in the FOURTH space to the RIGHT of the decimal point.
At the back of the food court there is one and only one retail store. How many words are in its name? Put your answer in the space directly to the LEFT of the decimal point.
Proceed back out of the food court and turn right on the main corridor. You're almost done, and probably ready to freshen up before leaving the mall. Go straight ahead a few more steps and, even if you don't need to, follow the signs towards the restrooms. Back in the catacombs here, find the emergency exit to a store. There is a large three-digit number stenciled on the door. Add the digits together and write your answer in the SECOND space to the RIGHT of the decimal point.
Now for a math problem: Start with 5, add 2, multiply by 3, subtract 3, divide by 9. Write this number in the LAST space to the RIGHT of the decimal point.
You should now have all of the blanks filled. You can either go back through the mall (if the weather is bad) or you can go out of exit in the back of the Food Court and around the building to the right to where you parked. Now you will need to drive to the Potomac Library which is located at approximately 38*37.953 North and 77*16.818 West.
Go in the library and use the Dewey Decimal Number to find the book. Library hours are:
Monday-Thursday: 10-9
Friday-Saturday: 10-5
Sunday: 12-5 (during the school year)
This "book cache" was placed with permission from the Potomac Library staff. Original contents include: Logbook and pens; seamstress measuring tape; a pair of new sunglasses; a roll of "highlighter" tape; 2 packs of miniature playing cards; a Jimmy Neutron note pad; a beaded jewelry glasses cord. First Finders prize is a feathered "dream catcher" with a first place ribbon. Happy Hunting!

Edited to Add: Thanks to TeacherMatt for the bonus info: Once you're done, you can log your cache right there at the library! :D
