A quick, or perhaps not so quick, micro with some historic significance.
Las Cruces obtained its name from a location near this cache, thought the exact spot is no longer known. The cache commemorates our town's name.
Several theories exist as to the naming, and several involve an early cemetery of those killed by Apache Indians, or La Placita de Las Cruces. This is also the intersection of the Camino Real, the old trail between Mexico City and Santa Fe, and the road to La Luz (now Main Street) or "The Crossroads".
The cache is small and not much room for trade items. A log and the stash note were all I could fit in there to begin with. Please bring your own writing implement to sign the log.
