Willkommen zum ersten Cache im Ammertal.
Vom Dorf aus ist der Cache in ca. 25 Minuten zu erreichen, faule
Autofahrer erreichen den Cache in ca. 5 Minuten.
1871 findet zu Ehren Koenig Ludwigs II. eine Sonderauffuehrung
der Passionsspiele statt. Der Koenig ist derart begeistert, daß er
dem Ort eine monumentale marmorne Kreuzigungsgruppe zum Geschenk
macht, die mit ihren 12 Metern Hoehe und 58 Tonne als das damals
groesste gemeisselte Steinmonument galt.
4 Jahre benoetigt der Bildhauer Prof. Halbig, um diese
Kreuzigungsgruppe zu erstellen, die am 15. Oktober 1875 feierlich
eingeweiht wurde.

Welcome to the first cache in the Ammertal.
To go to the cache by feet you need from the village 25 minutes,
with your car you must walk 5 minutes.
In the year 1871 King Ludwig II. watched a special performance
of the Oberammergau passion play. He was so enthusiastic that he
donated the monumental marble crucification group.
Professor Halbig worked four years for this monument which has a
hight of 12 metres and a wight of 58 tons.
