This is my first cache and the second in Fukuoka. "Minami Kouen(park)" is located in the central of Fukuoka city, next to the city's zoo and botanical garden, easily accessible by bus or on foot from downtown. You need to search the cache in bush off the park trail.
The original cache contains;
logbook, pen, pencil, stashnote(in English and in Japanese), Seal(that reads "Fukuoka" in Kanji), First Aid Kit, Okinawan folksong CD, disposable pen light, oil compass, toy ocarina.
The park preserves rather wild vegetation despite urbanized surroundings. The cache is hidden near "Tenboudai(viewing point)", the highest place of the park. Despite its name, you cannot see anything but trees from Tenboudai because of well-grown trees. I recommend to go to the viewing tower near the park, 360 m west of the cache(N33 34.417, E130 23.097), from where you can see superb panoramic view of the city.
