I have named the cache
after a bird species called "Great Crested Grebe". That is because these birds
can be spotted nearby the cache location in summer. There are also many other
birds in the area.
The island doesn't lie
far from the coast, though you still need a boat to get there in summer. You
don't necessarily have to have a real boat, even a rubber boat or canoe will do.
Or you could ask for a lift from someone - there are plenty of friendly people
with boats.
Once on the island,
please use the paths and try not go outside of them. There are many summer
cottages in the area, but there is no need for you to do trespassing - the cache
can be found without disturbing anyone :)
Also, if you see a sign with "Private Terrain" nearby the cache, you don't have
to mind about it. It is there to remind the occasional passerby that it is not
allowed to set up a camp or something similar on the island.
The cache itself is a
small green box. If you want to trade something, please don't take anything big
with you.
Note: there are ticks,
mosquitos and *big* ants in the area during summer. It's better to protect
yourself with good shoes, mosquito spray and long pants. Take a pair of gloves as well... it will make your searching more pleasant :)

Nimesin kätkön
silkkiuikuksi, koska näitä lintuja tapaa kätkön lähettyviltä kesäisin. Alueella
on myös paljon muitakin lintuja.
Saari ei sijaitse
kaukana rannasta, mutta tarvitset silti veneen päästäksesi sinne kesällä. Et
välttämättä kuitenkaan tarvitse mitään moottorivenettä, vaan kumivene tai
kanoottikin käy mainiosti. Voit myös yrittää saada itsellesi kyydin joltakin -
alueella on paljon ystävällisiä veneilijöitä.
Kun olet päässyt
saarelle, kuljethan polkuja pitkin. Saarella on paljon kesämökkejä, mutta kätkön
löytää kyllä ilman, että tulee häirinneeksi kenenkään rauhaa. Jos satut näkemään
kyltin 'yksityisalue' kätkön lähistöllä, älä turhaan säikähdä sitä. Se on
laitettu sinne muistuttamaan satunnaisia ohikulkijoita siitä, ettei saarelle saa
esimerkiksi leiriytyä.
Kätkö itsessään on
pieni vihreä rasia. Jos haluat tuoda jotakin vaihtotavaraa, älä ota mukaasi
mitään isokokoista.
Kesällä saatat
joutua tekemisiin punkkien, hyttysten sekä *isojen* muurahaisten kanssa.
Suojavarusteiksi riittävät hyvät kengät, hyttyskarkote sekä pitkät housut. Ota myös jonkinlaiset hanskat mukaan... ne tekevät etsimisestä hiukan mukavampaa :)
