Down the trail south of Great Stoneface Park.

Follow the trail that Indians used from Great Stoneface to track the mystical bear in his lair. The cache is a regular plastic cylinder, not the charcoal heater that sometimes is nearby. Initial contents include some fun toys. Enjoy a nice walk from a wonderful park in North Berkeley.

Cache Logs

I used to live in the neighborhood and often went down these steps on my way to my babysitting job. Was at my mom's house doing some cleaning out of stuff in the basement this afternoon. After we quit for the day, I took a trip down the steps and found the cache. The way seemed rougher than it used to... that couldn't have anything to do with age, could it? Left a coin that has traveled with me for too long. Thanks for the cache!

Came up from the bottom. Took me a while to realize it was o.k. to use this stair case, which appears to be between two property lines. Didn't have the cache info. with me, so I didn't know what I was looking for. But once I got to GZ, it was an easy find. Thanks for the cache and bringing up to this interesting spot.

We had tried to find this last year with no luck. Back visiting family and today, YES! Now I feel better. Loved the walk and the area. TFTC, TNLNSL.

We could see the cache sticking out as we walked up to the lair. My husband N3urom4ncer placed it back so it would be less obvious to a muggle. We left one of the 2 diabetes TB's we placed today. We saw another couple walking towards the cache as we were leaving and wondered if they were cachers, too? TFTC.
