Kolboda varv anlades på 1700-talet.
Skroven till landets första ångbåtar byggdes
här. 1841 anställdes en bornholmare, Herman
Olsén.
Han övertog varvsrörelsen 1845. Med Olsén kom
varvets storhetstid. Den Italieninspirerade mangårdsbyggnaden
till Kolboda gård lät han bygga 1867 efter egna
ritningar.
Olsén dog 1895 och varvet lades ner några år
därefter.

Kolboda yards were built in the 1700s. Hulls of the first
steamboats were built here.
In 1841 they hired Herman Olsén. He took over the shipyard
operations in 1845. With Olsén came the shipyard's
greatness. He built the Italian-inspired manor in 1867 after his
own drawings.
Olsén died in 1895 and the yard was closed down some years
thereafter.
