Geocache Description:

Cache adopted from SPOO,8-14-10,Trying to keep the fun alive...Slight slope and many small trees in the area.

Start by parking on the back side of Mt View Avenue at the old Railroad tracks. About 100 feet east on the tracks is the Mt Cutler Trail. Take the fork to the right about 100 feet up the slope. Follow the stone wall and head south where the rocks have been removed.

There are two old mine shafts from the gold mine. No you won't fall in! They are clearly visible and not dangerous.

Just over the rise from the cache, due west, are some old caves from the Boulders that tumbled down the mountain. Some of them contain some nice black tourmaline.

The small valley between the rise and the mountain is the old Hiram Botanical Gardens. Heading North will bring you back to the main trail. There are still some wells and open BBQ pits in this area. (Don't worry....they are safe also).

And of course, there is the trail up Mount Cutler !

I have started this cache with some neat stuff. My first TB, a glowstick, a GPS/Topo Coordinator Booklet, Pocket Screwdriver set, GeoCache pin, a Japanese 1,000 Yen note, Fishing Lure, disposable earplugs, Assorted sew-on shoulder patches and some small airplanes.
