How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This cache is located right off the Interstate I 85, a very short distance down an old county dirt road in a five gallon bucket. If you choose to stop in front of the cache you will have to step/climb up five feet on a dirt bank, be careful it can be tricky at times. It’s hidden but easy to find using your GPS and the hints if you need them. This exit off of I 85 has all the amenities for your travels.

I created “Bug Bucket” for a safe haven for trackables moving up and down the interstate. If your visiting the cache and you want to trade an item other than a trackable item please make the item related to traveling.

If you take a Travel Bug or a trackable item please leave one for every trackable you take!

If you’re not sure or familiar with the uniqueness of Travel Bugs or trackables and/or new to geocaching please CLICK HERE before you take a travel bug.

Park where you feel conforatable, there is not a place to park at the cache site. I always park on one side of the seldom used road where the cache is located, there are driveways down the road to turn around in. The lid on the cache can be a little tricky but just follow the instructions printed on the lid and you will be fine. The additional hits (if you need them) will tell you right where the cache is located.

*** If you are unfamiliar with Geocaching Etiquette, please adhere to these simple guidelines. ***

*“Discover” the trackables that you don’t take as a courtesy so the owners will be notified of their trackable’s status.
*If your trading other than a TB or Trackable click on TU or TE.
*If you want to leave more trackables than you take that's great but please remember to replace what you do take.
*Make sure you write in the logbook which trackable (s) you take and/or leave.
*If you’re taking and/or leaving a trackable make sure you “Log” it onto the web site as soon as possible as curious owners/watchers want to know.
*If you’re leaving a travel bug, print out its "goal" and place it with the trackable in a zip-lock bag; this way visiting cachers will know if they can help the travel bug by grabing it.
*As always, leave the cache better than you found it.

Even if you have visited the Bug Bucket in the past, feel free to stop by to trade trackable(s), just log your visit as an “NOTE”, and reveal what you took/left. If you have the time check out GCKJ4D right around the corner. Thanks, and have fun.

7-10-06 I checked on the cache today and this is the second time roadwork has been done which is very near the cache and the cache was not discovered. Everyone is doing a great job of keeping the cache completely concealed from mugglers and the tree and road crews.

8/23/07 Update: The land has been sold along the dirt road and rezoning notices have been posted. Please keep the cache covered with foliage. Thanks, LZ33

To avoid some confusion please do not relocate the "red herrings". Thanks.
