Geocache Description:

This cache was placed, with much admiration, by the PezCachers, sr.hikers and Borgts in tribute to one of Southern California’s premier mountaineers and longtime geocacher.

This peak was named for Captain John Fremont, U.S. Army topographer, explorer and trailblazer in the mid-1800s. A more comprehensive history, complete with pictures (please leave them in the cache), is in the ammo box hidden on the peak.

A pretty good scramble up a class 2 chute will put you on top of the peak with an awesome 360-degree view. Telescope Peak to the Northeast, the High Sierra to the Northwest and San Gabriel Mountains to the South.

Although it’s not on the Sierra Club desert peaks list, it’s a nice scramble to the peak. Coords should be right-on so no clues as to the cache’s whereabouts are needed.

Please trade evenly. Much thought was given to the cache contents, which are shown in the picture.
