This cache is on Angel Island. The starting point is Ayala Cove. From the cove there is a steep trail to the perimeter road and then a 2.5 mile walk.
Angel Island is one of our favorite places. Being that this is our first geocache to place we wanted to find a special place for it.

This cache is located above the tide line between Fort McDowell and Point Blunt.

At the moment there are four other caches on the island. Make a day of it!

Angel Island is accessible by private boat or ferry from Tiburon or San Francisco.

For island information, look here and here.

Today was the second day of finding caches in San Francisco. The weather was so beautiful that I decided to go on a bike to Angle Island. I explored several old batteries and locations, and the nature is just very nice. In total 18 caches found and 6 did not found. The strange thing is that most of the caches are severely damaged by water and the logs are full. Some maintenance needs to be done before the high season starts. To all, thanks for the wonderful day in searching geocaches and enjoying the nature of Angle Island. Greetings from the Netherlands.

vcgirl & I found the cache without any problems. There had been a couple entries in the log from the day before. We took the little Earth Globe & left a little Skull & Cross Bones. Saw the mermaid travel bug but we did not take. This was our first time visiting the island & we enjoyed the history & the scenery. We plan to return with our bikes to tour the rest of the island. Caution: The last ferry leaves the island for Tiburon at 5:20 sharp, we were almost left behind as they had to drop the gang plank back down for us & a few others.
